I am the way, the truth
and the life:
no man cometh unto the
father, but by me.
John 14:6

Directions to Heaven

Forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal life come only through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The Bible teaches what we must do to be saved and begin a new life as a Christian.

Believe

Believe that God will forgive because Jesus died for our sins

John 1:12--Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

John 3:16--For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Repent

Repentance a change of a heart, mind, and action due to sorrow over our sin.

Acts 2:38--Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Confess

Confession of who Jesus is and what He has done.

Romans 10:9--That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Matthew 10:32-33--Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Be Baptized

Baptism is an immersion into the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:3-4--Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Acts 2:38--Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

Mark 16:16--Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Live Faithfully

Baptism is the beginning of a new life in which we have made Jesus our Lord.  We must be faithful to our new Master, and continue to live righteously.

1 John 1:3--And hereby we know that we do know Him, if we keep His commandments.

Matthew 24:13--But he that will endure to the end, the same will be saved.
