He Said, She Said

He said, "I want that gorgeous girl
I want to have the best.
" She said, "I want that handsome man
To stand out from the rest."

He said, "I want that mean machine
The one with all the chrome."
She said, "I want that diamond ring
Few can afford to own."

He said, "I want that custom car
The only one around."
She said, "I want that stately home
The very best in town."

He said, "I want a five car garage
And then I'll buy a yacht
She said, "I want an in-ground pool
To add to what we've got."

He said, "I'll take the lottery
Then the world will be all mine."
She said, "I'll help you spend it
And we'll have ourselves a time."

So they lived it up and had it all
The world lay at their feet
They did not know they'd lose it all
The Saviour, soon they'd meet.

Christ turned his head and walked away
He dared not look upon Satan's smile
as he dragged them off
Going once, going twice, going, gone!

No man can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one,
and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one,
and despise the other.
You cannot serve
God and mammon.
Matthew 6:24
