Your Eye Upon the Ball
Keep your eye upon the ball in life,
and never glance away,
For if you do, the chances are
You'll find it's gone astray.
There may be lowly moments
when your heart is filled with doubt.
Especially when you've done your best,
yet find that you've struck out.
The perfect balls you sorely seek
may never cross your plate,
So learn to take the curved balls
Life has destined for your fate.
And if you hit some homers,
count your blessings that you do,
While learning how to take in stride
the joys life throws to you.
So just to be a winner
in the game of life at all,
Remember you must always keep
Your eye upon the ball.
