Our Memorial Page to America

We are BamBam, Mewsette and Phelicity, three American cats. This is our American Memorial page for Cats WorldWide.

We were so horrified and devastated at
the attack on our country of September 11, 2001,
no words can manage to tell.

We kitties have never seen such evil or such a terrible attack in our lives. We see our human families sad and shocked, fearful and angry, all at once. We know many kitties lost their dearest love, their human, and we see that the losses and grief and tragedy of our humans are horrible. We purr for our humans and send them our love and sympathy. We purr for our brave and good rescue workers and we thank them for the way they're doing their job. Our job as cats is clear, we are born comforters and we must comfort the best we can.

We want the world to know that we are fiercely proud of our America. This is our flag and our pledge:

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all."

      Our Freedom Has Not Died
      by Mewsette

This is my own, my native land,
Says an old and lovely song,
And none of us can understand
The evil that did our land wrong.

This, my country, land of the free,
Will rise from ashes and tears
To be the best that our land can be
For all the rest of our years.

We are Americans, strong and proud,
And we raise our flag in pride.
A bloody America is not bowed,
      Our freedom has not died.

Waves of Freedom
by Phelicity

Waves of horror
engulfed our country,
Cries of shock and
grief and sorrow,
Sounds of sirens,
buildings falling,
Bursts of fire,
fuel exploding,
Thousands of bodies
returned to dust.
Over the wreckage
our flag was waving.

Waves of anguish
gripped our country,
Cries of anger and
retaliation,
Sounds of prayer
and candles lighting,
Bursts of music,
drums and voices,
Thousands of friends
offer their hands.
Over the heroes
our flag is waving.

Our hearts united,
we will not falter.
Our flag is flying
in waves of freedom.

This poem is by and from our mom:

American Soul

September 11, 2001

Rare the nation without sin may be,
Yet the Bedouin has cast a stone
To wound the innocent among the free,
Who censure sin among themselves, alone.

By light of sunlit day, a heinus act
By which six thousand souls of us have died
By terror and its fire, leaves intact
The soul and fires of our nation's pride.

As we survey the wreckage of our life,
As devastating images are shown,
Now we accept our nation's certain strife,
With friends beside us or, if not, alone.

They who hide in caves and plot, who dared
To break the spirit of our simple trust
That we, who fed their hungry, would be spared,
Must now, by righteous wrath, return to dust.

Now change we must, and make our spirit whole,
And draw our generations into one,
For retribution of our very soul.
They changed our skyline, not our shining sun.

God Bless America
