Highland Gardens Civic Association
Minutes for July 11, 2011

Minutes taken by Vice President Chris Lundy

David Kout opened the meeting and Louis Rodriguez led the Pledge.

Due to light attendance during July vacation, an open forum was adopted.

Ofc. Derek Cormier reported on crime statistics, and called attention to preferred entry for burglaries via small back bathroom windows,
or by removing small window AC's. Many questions were asked about protecting oneself, police staffing in financial crisis, and some
individual complaints.

Commissioner Beam Furr reported on our new park opening on National Night Out. Plans were discussed as to what the city would be doing,
and what our association would do. Then he fielded questions about the budget, taxes, and status of various other projects in the neighborhood.

Dale passed out several preliminary sketches of horticultural architectural projects of small scale that we could take on as an organization.

The meeting ended before 8:00 P.M.
